A degree programme suitable for students interested in biological sciences or Life sciences.
The curriculum covers basic Microbiology to applied disciplines like Industrial Microbiology, Food and dairy Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular biology, Genetics etc. A project has to be undertaken by the student apart from the practical courses. The complementary courses are Biochemistry, Computer applications and Biostatistics. There are Common papers in English and second languages (Hindi and Malayalam). Common papers like Environmental studies, Research methodology, Biodiversity, Intellectual property rights are also being taught in the first four semesters. PO1 Acquire knowledge about the fundamental principles and scientific theories related to various scientific phenomena in day-to-day life.
PO2 To develop communication skills and get expertise in scientific writing.
PO3 Acquire the skills in handling scientific instruments, planning and performing in laboratory experiments. Equip them with the skills to think creatively and draw logical inferences from the scientific experiments to draw the objective conclusions or provide new solutions to the problems.
To make them Capable of working effectively in diverse teams in both classroom, laboratory and in industry and field-based situations.
